Solid State, The Speed Continues

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 19, 2009, 9:42 AM

Journal Entry
SQL has become quite the easy bit of code to get into and is tons more effecient than my flat file system I used. Needless to say, I should have gotten into SQL a lot sooner than I thought. I have finished my new portfolio site for now. Might redo how the artwork section is laid out but in all the site is very basic and easy to navigate.

Will be looking at redoing a client site here soon. Either the database itself or the whole layout depending on what is wanted. I personally think the layout needs a good revamp.

TT (SSHDs)
Solid state hard drive technology has been out for quite some time. The most typical use of these systems is within a memory card or your USB flash drive. It looks like it is just around the corner, but manufacturers are looking at adding these bad boys to the PC with either a stand alone or integrated onto a motherboard. Why would you want a solid state HD? The biggest imporvemnt is the complete removal of any moving parts. I/O programs are completely dependent on your HDs rotations per minute. If your CPU is clocked at 3.0 BIPS or 2.5, it will never matter when dealing with an I/O program as you have to look up additional information on your hard drive which means you will have to wait for those clunky moving heads to read the information and let's be honest, they can only go so fast. Solid state will give your file transfer a much faster response time and you can finally utilize more speed of your computer. Not only that, but everyone sees how small ss flash drives can be and how much information they can hold...imagine one the size of a normal HD; you are talking Terra bites of storage space.

Pluto-Star-Power - Digital Photographer

Who says digital photography can't be art too? I hardly know this person, but a nice conversation I had pointed towards her saying how amazing one of my digital pieces was (Nature's Decay) and how she wished she had that talent. Confused, I pointed out that she actually has some very captivating art within her photography that not that many people can capture. I would say digital photography has about the same amount of people that can captivate that feeling as other can with digital artwork. Cheers to her and her work there are some interesting flower stocks here to take a look at and almost every single piece she has contains some very vibrant colors. Not to mention she posts recipes that sound rather interesting :)
